The axiological self in philosophical therapy. Practical implications of Tischner’s philosophical anthropology: The article considers the category of the “axiological self ” in Józef Tischner’s philosophy, analysing its potential application in philosophical therapy and its practical implications for contemporary existential challenges. The starting point is the crisis of values and hope, which Tischner identifies as one of the key issues facing modern humanity. In the methodological section, the article discusses Tischner’s key categories such as the axiological self and its properties, egotistical solidarity and hope. The analysis compares Tischner’s approach with other therapeutic traditions, including Viktor Frankl’s logotherapy and Irvin D. Yalom’s existential psychotherapy. The author argues that the experience of the axiological self can play a fundamental role in the process of discovering one’s own value and overcoming existential crises. The article focuses on practical implications, particularly for psychotherapy and education, where axiological philosophy can support the process of regaining hope, dignity and the meaning of life. The author emphasizes the importance of dialogue between philosophy and psychotherapy, emphasizing their shared goal: liberation from fear and suffering. The article concludes with the reflection that Tischner’s thought offers a unique perspective, combining a profound philosophical diagnosis of the human condition with practical guidance for contemporary forms of therapy, as well as serving as an inspiration for both philosophy and psychotherapy.
