Abstract

The paper addresses specific forms of experiencing art in which the content becomes absolute evil. The analysis focuses on anthropological theses formulated on the basis of aesthetic mediations of evil, as interpreted by postmodern anthropology employing hermeneutic tools. The aim of the study is to demonstrate the inconsistencies within both the hermeneutic and postmodern perspectives, which — despite rejecting classical metaphysics — nevertheless make use of its conceptual categories in the aesthetic characterization of the epiphanies of evil as well as in anthropological assertions.
